James Zavaleta is an experienced and versatile singer, songwriter and producer with credits that range from performing alongside some of the biggest names in Latin Music, singing live on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, Over 25 national jingles as principal artist, to Voice Over work on the Academy Award winning film, Disney's Pixar's COCO.
Born and raised in Southern California, singer/songwriter James has always been surrounded and inspired by music. Growing up, he was exposed to the rhythms of Latin and Caribbean music and the beats of Hip Hop and R&B, eventually blending these influences into a signature upbeat yet intimate sound.
Early in his career, James quickly became a sought-after performer on the local L.A. music scene; performing at all the top Salsa venues. He would also become a regular call to back up Legendary artist such as Oscar De Leon, Tito Nieves, Victor Manuelle and more. As his music portfolio grew, so did his ability to skillfully perform a wide range of sounds and styles – from salsa to pop.
While he is an expert entertainer, James is also a singer and songwriter in his own right. From a very early age, James was drawn to the drums and percussion, which evolved into a passion for writing and composing. He taught himself to play the piano and, with this instrument as his medium, James honed his personal “Latin Pop” style and released his debut self-titled EP in 2012.
